Volunteers are needed for the 16th Annual HandsOn Greater Phoenix Serve A Thon for Schools. On April 25, Serve A Thon for Schools will bring together 2,500 volunteers to give local children safer, brighter learning spaces.

    More than 40 under-resourced schools will benefit from fresh coats of paint, refurbished libraries, landscaped green spaces, restored playgrounds and more. Among the schools being refurbished are Washington Elementary, 8033 N. 27th Ave.; Creighton School, 2802 E. McDowell Road; Imagine School at Camelback, 5050 N. 19th Ave.; Midtown Primary, 4735 N. 19th Ave.; and Mission Schools, 1118 W. Glendale Ave.
