Great programs for all ages at Acacia
Teens enjoy great food and socializing this month with two special events at the Acacia Library, 750 E. Townley Ave. On Oct. 19, teens ages 12-18 can learn why the amazing art of Mehndi is just as popular today as it was thousands of years ago by creating and applying their own design that will last for weeks.
Teens are invited to return to the library on Oct. 26 for a Mummy Wrap Contest. Prizes given to the team that can create the best mummy in the shortest amount of time.
Both programs begin at 5 p.m.; snacks provided courtesy of the Friends of the Phoenix Public Library.
For the adult booklovers, the Friends of the Library–Acacia Chapter meets 1-3:30 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month for a short review of library business, followed by a book discussion. On Oct. 21, come discuss “Shattered Dreams: My Life as a Polygamist’s Wife” by Irene Spencer.
