Schmitt Jewelers, 539 E. Glendale Ave., and ON Media have partnered to create Gold Encore, a program that benefits Ballet Arizona and Arizona Theatre Company.

    The program focuses on encouraging the public to support the arts groups through donations of unused gold and platinum jewelry including unpaired earrings, broken chains, dental gold, old jewelry mounts or other gold pieces.

    The unused or unwanted gold pieces can be brought to Schmitt Jewelers, which will assess and weigh the metals and give 100 percent of the gold’s value to the two arts groups. No check writing or cash is required.
