Different types of memory loss examined

Does someone you love experience memory loss? Are you wondering if it’s a byproduct of aging, or afraid it could be something more serious?

On Jan. 23, First United Methodist Church Foundation will present a free informational seminar on the differences between dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Featured presenter Emily Nock, education coordinator of the Alzheimer’s Association–Desert Southwest Chapter, will discuss the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, provide an overview of the types of dementia, behavioral aspects and offer communication and home safety tips.

The free program takes place from 9 to 11 a.m. in First United Methodist Church’s Asbury Hall, 5510 N. Central Ave. Light refreshment will be provided. For more information, call 602-263-5013 or visit http://www.first churchoncentral.org.
