Cat-tastrophies can be averted

If the four-legged friend in your life who needs a little training is feline rather than canine, fear not. There is help available from Jane Ehrlich, a Phoenix-area feline behavior counselor.       Behavior problems often are the reason cats are returned to a shelter or are simply, tragically, dumped. These includ inappropriate soiling, not using the litter box, destructive scratching  and aggression. Introducing a new cat to one who has always ruled the home, or even to a new baby, are other issues that can crop up in Ehrlich’s practice.

Ehrlich will dispense her feline-friendly advice 2-3 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at Noble Beast Natural Market for Pets, 1005 E. Camelback Road. The event is free.

You ca learn how to do to a general physical and Ehrlich also will cover nail clipping, how to give a pill, and determining your cat’s proper weight.
