ASU Civic Engagement and Leadership Summer Camp

Children in grades 3-8 can learn how to make a difference in the community! Camp features field trips, special guests, civic leadership training, team building activities, and more. There are three sessions total: June 7-11, June 14-18 or June 21-25. Camp runs from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (extended care available). Cost is $225 per student, per session, and includes camp photos and T-shirt.


Arizona Biltmore Summer Tennis Camp

Kids ages 5-16 can learn to play tennis while enjoying the resort-like atmosphere at the Biltmore. Tennis is two hours during the early morning (beginner through advanced) with the remainder of the time being dedicated to children relaxing and enjoying scheduled daily activities—from swimming at the Paradise Pool with 92-foot waterslide, sport court with basketball, soccer, and ping pong to arts & crafts, a game room and more. One-week sessions begin June 7 and run through Aug. 13. Cost is $40 per day (discounted $180 per week) for half day with snack, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.; and $65 per day ($300 per week) for full day with lunch, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Offering summer fun for infants through first graders, in three, 3-week sessions: June 1-18, June 21-July 9, and July 12-30. Aftercare will be provided for those who wish it. The theme this year will be “The Days of Creation” with individual weeks focusing on “Let there Be Light,” “Water,” “Land, Sea and Vegetation,” “Sun, Moon and Stars,”  “Creatures Big and Small,” “Creation of Mankind,” “Rest and Shabbat,” and finally “Carnival Week,” which will include activities from all the themes and a special water slide. In addition to theme-related art, there will be cooking, games, t’fillah, music and stories. There also will be recreational swimming for pre-K through first grade campers and water play for the younger set. Older campers (pre-K through first grade) will participate in trips to movies, the circus, Pump It Up (a huge indoor playground with lots of bounce), the Arizona Science Center Planetarium, Pirate and Princess Day and weekly yoga, while the infants/toddlers will enjoy a teddy bear pajama party, a special Bubble Day and other age-appropriate activities. The cost for members for a 3-week session, five days a week from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., is $545. The cost for non-members is $595. There also is early care available from 7-9 a.m. and aftercare available from 3:30-6 p.m.

A hands-on camp designed to offer active learning opportunities regarding a variety of animals and the care that these different animals require. Camp participants, ages 6-12, learn training techniques, animal care, handling of a variety of animals, valuable healthcare tips from shelter veterinarians, and even get to suds it up with one of our many dogs here at the shelter! Sessions run weekly, May 31-Aug. 6. Half day (8 a.m.-12 p.m.) is $175, full day (8 a.m.-4 p.m.) is $275, per weekly session.

A hands-on camp for 12-17 year olds. This will be the inaugural year for the camp, designed to offer active learning opportunities for middle school-age children considering a career in animal medicine. This career discovery program will introduce campers to a wide variety of animals and the care that they require, while learning what it takes to become a veterinarian. Sessions for ages 12-14 run 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekly, June 7-July 23. For ages 15-17, sessions also run the same time weekly, June 14-July 30. Cost is $325 per session (full day only); snacks provided, but children must bring a sack lunch.

Two different camps, on alternating weeks, are available so children can spend more than one session at Camp Zoo. Camps are for students who are entering kindergarten through 8th grade this fall. Kindergarten is half day only; grades 7-8 are full day only. Grades 1-6 have half day (8 a.m.-12 p.m.) or full day (8 a.m.-3 p.m.) options. Weekly sessions run June 7-July 30. Cost is $170 for half-day per week, $280 for full day per week (member discounts available). Full day campers must be picked up by 4 p.m.; After-Camp is available from 4-6 p.m. for an additional $50 per weekly session.

The camps will help students focus on their college plans, based on their age and grade. Some of the topics that will be covered include: how to pay for college, college life, career exploration, money management and many more topics presented with fun activities and guest speakers. The 6th-8th Grade Camp takes place 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturdays: June 5, June 12, June 19 and June 26. The 9th-10th Grade Camp runs 3-4:30 p.m. June 14-17. The 11th Grade Camp is set for 1-3 p.m. July 13-16, and the 12th Grade Camp runs 1-3 p.m. Wednesdays: July 7, July 14, July 21 and July 28. Space is limited, so sign up today! Students should sign up for the camp that reflects their fall 2010 grade level. For example, current 8th graders should sign up for the 9th–10th grade camp. Camp features five, 2-week sessions, running from May 31 through Aug. 6. Hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Camp is for ages 6-12. Activities include football, soccer, baseball, tennis, racquetball, volleyball, relays, basketball, kickball, aerobics, swimming, and more. Camp is $295 per session, lunch not included; extended hours, from 7-8 a.m. and 3-5 p.m., are available for an additional $75 per session. Discounts available for multiple children and multiple sessions.

The Preschool Program runs weekly, June 1-Aug. 27, while the K-5th Grade program runs weekly, June 1-Aug. 6. Each week is considered a “session” and is theme-based. Parents may choose either a 3-day or 5-day themed program. Some of the themes are: "Mystery Week," "Jungle Fever," "Dinosaurs," and "Fabulous 50's." Children also will explore Biblical themes like "Fruit of the Spirit" and "Bible Superheroes." Summer activities for K-5 include off-site field trips, swimming at Madison Pool once a week and Water Play Days. There will be Water Play Days for preschoolers once a week. The summer program runs 7 a.m.-6 p.m. daily. Cost for Preschool Program is $120 per week for the 5-day program and $90 per week for the 3-day program; there also is $10 activity fee. Cost for the K-5 Program is $140 per week for the 5-day program and $90 per week for the 3-day program.

    Five 2-week sessions are offered for $375 per session, for ages 4-16. Cost includes camp T-shirt, prizes and lunch. All levels, beginners to advanced. Hours are Monday-Wednesday, 8 a.m.-1 p.m., and Thursdays 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Extended hours from 1-4 p.m. Mon.-Wed. is an extra $25 per day or $10 an hour per camper. All sports will be played during extended hours. In addition to camp, Friday classes will be available 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at $50 per class. Sessions run May 31-Aug. 5.

    Children ages 6-12 can explore how things are designed and built, how and why planes fly, how our incredible body functions and how we can study the vast universe beyond us. Camp runs 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday, in six sessions (from June 7 to July 23). Cost is $200 for Science Center members, $225 for non-members, lunch not included. Early drop-off at 8 a.m. and late pick-up at 5 p.m. is available for an additional $50.

Storybook Theatre, for ages 4-6, runs 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. weekly, June 1-25. Cost is $100 per week or $300 for all four weeks (the program is repeated July 6-31). Musical Theatre Workshops, for ages 7-12, run 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. weekly, June 1-25. Cost is $175 per week or $600 for all four weeks. There also are Musical Theatre Workshops for ages 13-18, which run concurrently at the same price range. In addition, there is a full production of “The Jungle Book” for ages 7-15, where students put on a play for friends and family at the end. It runs 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. for four weeks, July 6-31. Cost is $600.  Before and after care available for all programs for an additional $60 per week.

In this four-week intensive, students will receive professional training in acting, dance, and voice as well as participate in an end-of-session production. Any level of experience welcome. All-Star Summer Playhouse, for ages 5-6, runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. July 7-July 2 for Session I; and July 12-Aug. 5 for Session II. Cost is $300 per session. Musical Theatre Summer Workshop, for ages 7-17, runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., June 7-July 2 for Session I; and July 12-Aug. 2 for Session II. Cost is $630 per session; no lunch provided.
