Educational, fun events at center

The Sunnyslope Senior Center, 802 E. Vogel Ave., offers a monthly calendar of events to entertain, educate and enliven. This month’s events include:

     Shopping trip to the Chris-Town Walmart, 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 13. Cost is $2.50 for Reserve a Ride.

     Free Movie: James Cameron’s Oscar-winning blockbuster, “Avatar,” 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 13.

     Trip to the Hall of Flame Fire Museum, 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 20. Cost is $3 for museum admission and $2.50 for Reserve A Ride. Lunch stop at Bill Johnson’s Big Apple on the way home. Cost is out of pocket. Reservations for the trip required by July 15.

     Green, Groovy, Global Planet Day, 10 a.m. Thursday, July 22. Dress code is green; share your recycling efforts and crafts. Entertainment by Peggy & Neil.

     A discussion about Breast Cancer, 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 29, with Sherry Gage, director of the John C. Lincoln Breast Health and Research Center.
