Pet of the Month This bulldog is one ‘pretty’ puppy

Bella is a young and exuberant 6-month-old with a gregarious and curious personality. Being an American bulldog, she adores human attention and she never hesitates to crawl into your lap and cuddle close on the sofa. More than likely she will cover you with sloppy kisses just to show how much she adores you.

She loves to play and nothing holds her back when it comes to exploring and investigating everything with her sensitive nose. She loves any type of dog toy but this puppy has a bit of a shoe fetish. She will need lots of play time, plenty of long walks, and entertaining activities to keep her busy and out of trouble.

Bella is partially housetrained and she walks wonderfully on a leash as long as she doesn’t spot something mesmerizing to chase after. Bella will need special training when it comes to learning the basic commands and her new owner will need to use hand signals since she is completely deaf. Deaf dogs are exceptionally smart and instead of using their ears they rely on their other senses to find their way around the world. Deaf dogs read hand signals, body language and facial expressions to understand what their humans are communicating to them so Bella’s new owner must be very expressive.

Bella must find a home with older children and a family meet and greet is required. She is available now at the Arizona Humane Society’s Sunnyslope facility located at 9226 N. 13th Ave. Her adoption fee is $160. This fee includes her spay surgery, vaccines, a colorful collar and leash, an AHS I.D. tag and a follow-up veterinary exam.
