Free event looks at women with cancer

On Sept. 25, The Wellness Community–Arizona (TWC) will present a Women’s Cancer Conference in partnership with the Comprehensive Cancer Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. Women across Arizona are invited to participate in this free educational event, which is being held as a lead-in to National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

The conference will address the most critical issues impacting women who live with cancer and their families. Presenters will discuss the latest research on the underlying causes of many cancers; treatment options; the role of exercise, genetics, nutrition and psychosocial support in cancer diagnosis and treatment; and how to manage such common side effects as lymphedema and “chemo-brain.”

The free program runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Goldman Auditorium at St Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, 350 W. Thomas Road. RSVP is requested by calling 877-602-4111.
