Business news that you can use... Animal homeopathy program launches
    In February, the American Medical College of Homeopathy (AMCH) begins the first homeopathic program for veterinary doctors in the United States. It is a part-time program that meets one three-day weekend a month for two years.
    The program includes 167 hours of clinical training as part of the 500-hour intensive training program in veterinary classical homeopathy. The estimated tuition for the two-year program is $9,200.

Start getting ready for tax season now
    “Get Ready–Set–Go!” is the title of a noncredit class at Phoenix College designed to show enrollees how to get their 2007 tax information organized in time to file before the April 15 deadline.
    Instructor Betty Thompson, a North Central resident, will give participants tips and tools to simplify the process and show them how to set up files so the task will be even easier next year. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers, Phoenix chapter.
    Classes will be held at Phoenix College, 1202 W. Thomas Road, on Monday, Jan. 28 and Feb. 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. Fee is $25. To register, call 602-223-4050.

Phoenix law school holds open house
    Phoenix School of Law, 4041 North Central Ave., invites the public to a lunch-hour information session on Friday, Jan. 18, where guests can investigate law school options, learn about the PhoenixLaw Mission Pillars, and see the latest educational technology at work.
    This is a great chance to meet the admissions team and learn about the law school application process. Prospective students and others also can learn more about Arizona’s only law school offering day and evening, full and part-time classes.

Brush up on your real estate license

    For licensed Valley real estate agents looking to complete the Arizona Department of Real Estate (ADRE) requirements, Phoenix College will offer real estate continuing education courses during two weekends in February at its downtown campus, 640 N. 1st Ave.
    Arizona real estate agents must complete 24 hours of approved continuing education every two years to renew a real estate license. Of the 24 hours, a minimum of 3 credit hours must be obtained in each of the six real estate categories:  Real Estate Legal Issues, Commissioner’s Standards, Contract Law, Agency Law, Fair Housing and Disclosure.
    Phoenix College continuing education real estate seminars include four courses per weekend that satisfy 3 credit hours as approved by the ADRE. Participants can chose from two different rounds of seminars. The first round of seminars will be offered the weekend of Feb. 1-2, and again on Feb. 8-9 at the price of $60 per weekend, or $15 per course.
    Prerequisites to enroll are completion of REA 180, REA 201, possession of a valid Arizona real estate license, or instructor permission. Participants can register by phone at 602-285-7777 or online at www.phoenixcollege.edu.

City offers small-business Certification Workshop

    Minority, woman and small business owners in Maricopa County are invited to attend a free workshop 2-4 p.m. Jan. 8 to learn more about the city of Phoenix business certification programs and how they can provide opportunities for small business economic growth.
