Golf tourney honors Smith, benefits fund
In response to the untimely passing of Lory Smith, Major League Conditioning Centers will host a golf tournament Thursday, Feb. 28 at Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia, 12575 W. Golf Club Drive in Peoria. The tournament will benefit The Travis and Tyler Smith Educational Fund.

Smith and her husband, Otis, were instrumental in the passing of Shannon’s Law, which now makes random gunfire a felony. Smith was a well-respected member of the community and her drive to make a difference will be greatly missed.
Along with the golf tournament, there will be food, prizes, raffles, live and silent auctions, and contests.
The tournament will kick off with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The field is limited to 144 golfers. Tickets are $190 per person, including box lunch and awards dinner. Call Bill Ross or Kim Clark at Major League, 602-230-8581 to register for the tournament or to donate a prize.
