Girl Scouts earn Bronze Award
Junior Girl Scout Troop 1704 earned its Bronze Award (the highest award you can earn as a Junior Girl Scout) with a project entitled “Graffiti Busters.” This was coordinated through the city of Phoenix Graffiti Busters Program.

Led by Troop Leader Denise Campagnolo, the team started out at 8:30 a.m. on April 26, painting over seven graffiti walls/bus stop covers in the North High School area. By the time their painting work ended at 3:30 p.m., they were exhausted, sun exposed and major league hungry and thirsty—but also very proud of what they had accomplished.

“The girls really did an excellent job, the walls we painted over looked professionally done,” Campagnolo said. “People in the neighborhood stopped, thanked us, and applauded; bus drivers going by beeped their horns. All in all, it was an outstanding and exhausting seven-hour project for our girls,” all fifth graders at Madison Meadows Middle School.
