Fresh & Easy opens on 7th Avenue
Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market on Oct. 1 opened the doors at its latest North Central Phoenix store at the southeast corner of 7th Street and Thunderbird Road. A check for $1,000 was presented to local nonprofit organization Team Saulo, named for Saulo Morris, an excelling student athlete and musician at Thunderbird High School, who was diagnosed with leukemia in March 2007.

At roughly 10,000 square feet, these Fresh & Easy neighborhood markets are smaller than the typical supermarket to give customers a faster, easier shopping experience. In addition to offering a range of Fresh & Easy private label and national brand name products at low prices, Fresh & Easy also offers customers a selection of fresh, prepared meals.

This Fresh & Easy location will employ 20 to 30 people, and intends to hire from the local neighborhood. The company provides the opportunity for all employees to work at least 20 hours, which entitles them to comprehensive healthcare and competitive benefits. Entry-level positions will pay well over the minimum wage, starting at $9 an hour in Arizona, with a potential quarterly bonus of up to 10 percent on top.

Fresh & Easy is a company of Tesco, the United Kingdom’s largest retailer. Tesco operates more than 3,400 stores across 12 countries. More information regarding Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market can be found at www.freshandeasy.com.
