AARP Tax-Aide, the nation’s largest free, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service for low- and middle-income taxpayers, with special attention to those age 60 and older, is in need of computer equipment for the upcoming tax-filing season. Last year, 94 percent of taxpayers assisted by AARP Tax-Aide had their tax return electronically filed by volunteers at one of 91 sites around Arizona using donated computers and printers.
Sue Key, Arizona AARP Tax-Aide Technology Specialist, recently stated, “We especially need computers that need to be a Pentium 3 or better, with a processor speed of 800 MHz (or better), a minimum of 256 MB Ram and at least a 4 GB hard disk drive. We are also in great need of laser printers and laptop computers.” To donate a computer, printer or computer supplies to the AARP Tax-Aide program call Sue Key at 623-203-0047 or e-mail aztaxaide@yahoo.com.
