New tenant planned for Central restaurant

After more than a year of being vacant, the former home of the Calico Cow restaurant at 8525 N. Central Ave. might finally be getting a new tenant: the Central Bar & Grille.

As of press time, Flagstaff resident George Nackard, a longtime Valley commercial rental property owner, had applied for a series 12 liquor license. Nackard, who formed Consolidated Investment Company Inc. in 1957, and his application will go before the Phoenix City Council on Wednesday, April 1. Council members will discuss his application and vote on whether to forward it to the Arizona State Liquor Board with a recommendation to approve or deny the application. Members of the public wishing to comment on the application can turn in a speaker card prior to the vote.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 200 W. Jefferson. Liquor license applications are typically heard in the first part of the meeting. However, meeting schedules and agendas are subject to change, so call 602-262-4638 at least 24 hours prior to confirm the agenda item.
