A free “Working Through Cancer” workshop will address the impact of new federal guidelines that significantly broaden the definition of “disabled.” The event takes place 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at The Wellness Community, 360 E.  Palm Lane.

    Employment Attorney Denise Blommel and Viad Corp Human Resources Vice President Sue Pearl will discuss changes to the Americans with Disabilities Act and their far-reaching impact on Valley businesses and individuals. Valley cancer survivors also will describe the challenges they faced in re-entering the workforce and overcoming employer hiring preferences favoring young, healthy employees.
